Vice-President

I have always loved football. In 2011 I became an active volunteer with my son's community football program in Alberta. After moving to Vernon in 2014, I became the team mom/manager for 2 seasons with Seaton. I am very excited to start working with VDMFA. I have seen what amazing things football has done for my son, and many other youth in our community. My goal this season is to give our North Okanagan youth the opportunity to play and learn to love football as much as I do. "Football has a place for everyone, making it one of the top sports for all youth. Big, small, fast, not so fast, male or female."

I love being involved with VDMFA. I have seen my two older boys, one graduated and one graduating this year, become the boys they are because of their passion for playing football and the values and respect they have gained from the coaching. One played for the Kamloops Broncos last year and the other has a scholarship to play football with the Calgary Dinos this year. I have been involved with VDMFA for 12 years now; including, being on the board for 5 terms a few years ago. I am excited to be back on the board and to see my 8-year-old now play football and gain the love his brothers have for the sport. It is a great activity for our children of Vernon that teaches them so many life skills. I strive to help VDMFA become the association that successfully keeps children active and support their love of the sport.

Secretary

After watching my son, Taylor, play football with VDMFA for many years, I grew to love football and its impact on the youth of our community. During Taylor's many seasons of football, I saw him grow through the program and his coaches. Now, I am looking forward to donating my free time to give back to the program that has given so much to my son and myself. This truly is an amazing program and life choice for family's to become apart of.

Mindy joined the board of directors to support her husband, Chris’s, love of football. They joined the VDMFA family about 5 years ago after moving to Vernon from Ontario. She has learned to love football and through football has made some amazing new friends. Mindy started off in the role of our media & marketing director. Now, taking over Chris’s position on the board, she will be our 2019 flag football coordinator.

Manager of Team Mangers

Vernon minor football has been a huge part of my family for the past two years. The Vice president introduced my family to this sport and we have never looked back. I was a team manager for the last two years, and being fully involved in a sport your child plays not only gives your child more confidence but also shows your community that this is something they want to do to. Being a role model for the children is also something that makes me want to be here. There so influenced at this age, so to have something to look forward to is crucial for our youth of this community. So thank you everyone for allowing me to be involved.

Director at Large

I have been apart of this football community since my son started playing in 2012. I joined the board in 2017 to lend a helping hand after realizing that it takes more than just being present on the sidelines to make a program like this run. I thoroughly enjoy volunteering my time to an organization that is focused and dedicated to our youth.
